The 19th Anniversary of English Language Education Department: Welcoming the Anniversary of English Language Education Department in Ramadhan

    

    On Monday, March 18, 2024 was a very special day for the English Education Study Program (PBI), Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher (FTK) UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. Because on that day, PBI Study Program commemorated its 19th anniversary. Therefore, one of the division programs of HIMAPRODI PBI UINSA, namely Public Relations, held an event namely Takjil on the Road, Tabligh Akbar, and Dies Natalis which was held at the Assalafiyah Orphanage. This event was not only intended to commemorate the anniversary of PBI, but we also breaking the fast together with orphanage children, Community of English Department Alumny (CEDA) UINSA and PBI lecturers. In addition, this event also held competition activities that must be followed by English Language Education Department (ELED) students in the form of poetry writing and vlog (30s).

   This event involved 62 members from HIMAPRODI by delegating several people from each division, including 6 people from the Daily Executive Board (BPH), 3 people from the Entrepreneurship division, 8 people from the Research division, 9 people from the IT division, 10 people from the Language Development division, 11 people from the Skill and Talent division, and all members from the Public Relations division.

   At the first event, in the form of remarks from the vice chairman of the Assalafiyah Orphanage, then continued with remarks from the chairman of CEDA UINSA, and the last was a speech from The head of the English Language Education Department, Ma'am Rakhmawati, M.Pd. This event runs in an orderly and relaxed manner. The next event was reading the names of those who succeeded in the Dies Natalis competition category The extraordinary speakers were also present to enliven this event, he was Ust. Moh. Ali Hasan S.Pd, M.pd. In his lecture, he explained about the noble deeds in the holy month of Ramadan. When he lectured, the audience also listened solemnly and did not fail to laugh of the jokes thrown by him adding to the impression of excitement while waiting for the time to break the fast.

   Before breaking the fast, we also perform maghrib prayers in congregation. Afterwards, we break the fast together with delicious mini tumpeng rice dishes and refreshing syrup water. We felt the atmosphere of breaking the fast together. A very close sense of kinship should be felt in this moment. And before we knew it, the end of the event was a joint documentation session between the orphanage children and the committee, then continued with all the delegates present.
